Job Opportunity

Earls Barton Junior Youth Club has seen its membership increase to over 100 and is now a thriving hub of activity on Monday evenings; where our young people can grow, play, share, learn and just be themselves. Due to work and family commitments, our current volunteer leader is leaving in July 2015. To enable us to continue the efficient running of our junior club the Parish Council have agreed to fund this role. The role includes (with the support of many volunteers): 

  • Making appropriate advance preparations for club sessions, planning & provide interesting activities & events

  • Supervising & supporting adult volunteers

  • Responsibility for addressing health & safety considerations at the club

  • Ordering & maintaining a full stock of resources/equipment

  • Responsibility for the club’s petty cash

  • Implementing EBJYC policies & procedures

Previous experience of working with young people aged 7 - 11 is ideal but not essential & a job share could be considered. The position will require a maximum commitment of 4 hours/week (inc. club nights).

YOUTH WORK CO-ORDINATOR – The Hub Youth Café, Brackley

The YMCA is seeking an experienced youth worker who is energetic, enthusiastic
and able to demonstrate motivational leadership qualities. The Youth Work Coordinator
will lead a dedicated team of young people and adult volunteers to
deliver our main youth club sessions in central Brackley as well as supporting
the on-going fundraising efforts. Paramount to success will be ensuring all youth
people’s voices are heard and that they are fully engaged in determining the
future of the project and the service we offer. The role includes continuously
developing the volunteer youth worker team, motivating supporters and working
closely with the project management committee.

Schoolwatch Youth Worker

Youth Worker wanted to help patrol outside the E parker school at Daventry with our Schoolwatch project.

Adults aged 16+ who are interested in helping young people. The project aims to communicate with young people as they leave school to help them to stay safe outside and on their way home from school. It also lends a listening ear to young people when they want to talk.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED.

Experience of working with young people.

An interest in the local community.

An interest in young people

Willingness to do some training for the position.

Good communication skills.

Availability on a Wednesday afternoon between 3 -4 30 pm

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Church on the Heath runs a drop-in on a Thursday night from 6pm to 7:30pm. The drop-in is a place where 10-16 year olds can come and hang out with their friends in a safe environment.

We are looking for volunteers to help run the drop-in. Becoming a volunteer would involve spending time talking to the young people, playing games, and helping with pack down and debrief.

Safeguarding is essential; therefore all volunteers must undergo a DBS check.

YOUTH CLUB LEADER (Potterspury)

Potterspury Youth Club is looking for a keen enthusiastic dedicated helper. Age and experience is not as important as the ability to help us to help our members enjoy themselves at Youth Club. We meet for just two hours a week (during school term time) on Thursday evening between 6.30 and 8.30 pm.

We have a fairly even mix of boys and girls of which they are mostly Potterspury children and are aged between 7 and 12 years old. We also have a number of adult and junior helpers that help us out each week. This is a three year project that will deliver free, informal sporting sessions in a range of local community settings for young people aged 14 -19. The project uses sport to engage with young people and to challenge anti-social behaviour in targeted areas.

Please note that the multi-sport sessions and activities are usually in the evening and based at community centres, schools and/or playing fields.
